Most interior designers advise you to decide on a general theme to use in your home . This does not mean that all rooms will be the same, the theme would be the same throughout your home. The style one decides should reflect on the family unit with regard to character and style.
CONCEPTIONS AND ASSORTED THEMES
The theme of the farm is a very popular theme because it seems to be timeless. For the most part, this would imply a feeling of country or comfort. For wall colors, you can use light yellow, white or pastel colors. Furniture would be agricultural style forms and worn wood furniture.
Bohemian or rustic is another popular theme. If you like warm colors, this would be your style. Articles from the Middle East, Africa and Morocco could be involved in this design. The colors of this design would be red, orange, purple and sand.
Contemporary or minimalist is another popular theme. This style diminishes the mess and is a good way to open up areas. The main color of this theme is white. This would include furniture so normally you will not find this theme with families with young children.
Whatever your choice, remember that all your rooms should possess a strong sense of compatibility.
INTERIOR DESIGN TIPS SIMPLE FABRICS
Mirrors are an exceptional way to extend an area to make it larger. Use a large mirror that sits directly in front of a natural light source such as a window or door. This should make the space not only larger but less crowded too. If you are working with a small area, a bit of clutter can easily complicate the filling of the space.
The addition of a wall of accentuation will attract the eye and will highlight a feature or piece of furniture. You can accomplish it by painting a focus wall or using a wall paper to create a focus wall. Do not forget that you never want your wall art to be longer than the furniture you present.
Develop illusion through movement by arranging your space so that your eye continues to move from one point to another.
Your furniture and other parts must correspond to the total area of the room. In other words, do not overshoot or throw it out of symmetry.
Finally, the decor and design of the house are often a very sensitive issue, because many feel that they understand the process, but the result says something totally different.
The use of items you may already have as candles and figurines could easily be reorganized to bring spectacular results and improve lighting. Always make sure that you have lighting in places that are normally overlooked by obstructions.
If you are considering alternative ideas, think of Gothic, traditional, Mediterranean, tropical, Asian and of course contemporary interior designs.
