Body

When you are considering getting tattooed or not, you will need to decide where to put it on your body. If you have a job in the public service, then you could decide to get the tattoo in an area that you can cover.

Make sure you talk to your work and see if they have a policy on tattoos. Large companies, like Disney, that want to show some reputation will make you cover the tattoo with makeup if you have the tattoo in a place that is on view.

However, with most other businesses, times have changed and tattoos are no longer so despised. Even members of the police wear tattoos to show and they will not be required to cover them.

If your job says you can have the tattoo where you want, then the decision is entirely up to you. The only thing you will need to consider, if that is your first tattoo, is if it will hurt where you want it.

For many people, the pain threshold is something they do not really care about. If they want a tattoo in a painful area, they will be ready to take the pain because the tattoo will mean a lot to them.

The general rule is that less flesh and muscle in an area means it hurts a bit. People said wrists, ankles, feet, ribs and the spine area were the places that hurt the most.

What tattoo?

People tend to put a lot of work into their tattoos because they will have that tattoo for the rest of their lives. For some people, tattooing has a great meaning for them.

Some people have commemorative tattoos when they have lost someone who had a special meaning in their lives. Other people can get tattoos to remember a certain period of their life.

There are also people who consider themselves collectors of tattoos and they will only work for a particular artist.

There are times when a person will enter a tattoo shop and they will have no idea what they want. They will know what they want the tattoo to symbolize and they will give the tattoo artist a certain level of artistic merit.

That means you will get tattooed and you will not know what it is before it is on your skin. It actually means that the artist will take your requirements and your ideas and, in fact, personalize your tattoo. You will see all the drafts and you will sign on the drawing before it comes on your skin. This may require several trips to the tattoo shop until you think the design is perfect.
