5 easy house design tips

Want to give a new look to your home, but you do not have a lot of money?

Now – You Can – With these frugal home design tips!

I know how you feel. It is frustrating not to have extra money in the economy today to spend on your home. But, let me tell you that it's not what we have or what we do not have, that's how we use what we already have!

So, let's start!

Frugal House Design Tip 1: Move It

Rearranging a room will give your room a fresh look. Change things a little. But, before starting this work back from each piece, draw a simple plan of the piece and sketch out the different possibilities of arrangement.

Try something new. Angle this sofa instead of letting it flush against the wall. Exchange furniture from one room to another – The layout of your living room is grounded only in your mind. Delight your family by exchanging furniture from one room to the other.

Move the art on the wall. The old saying "familiarity breeds contempt" can also be true with the art on the wall. If it never moves, it will stop being noticed. Move and rearrange the art. Change a painting from the bedroom to the mantel or rearrange what you have in the room on a different wall.

Frugal House Design Tip 2: Give it a cool coat

There's nothing that will change the look of a room faster than a new coat of paint. Instead of painting the entire room, choose a wall that draws in the colors of your favorite piece of art, carpet or window cover.

You do not want to paint a room? Do you have a library or entertainment center? Paint the back inside with 2 or 3 colors in a checkerboard type design. A focused light will bring out the bright color of this vase or draw attention to a special accent.

Add a few battery-powered adhesive side lights to the top of a few shelves to highlight a glass object or family photo.

Tip 3: Adding Colorful Organics

Fresh flowers, or even silk flowers, will bring an emotional touch to any room. A new bouquet a week is a great way to keep things colorful and fresh.

Try using unusual bowls or containers as a vase. Use a hat box, a box of oatmeal flakes, a glass jar or empty the kitchen box for a delicious look.

Monitor sales, use coupons at local fabric stores or check clearance tables is always a fantastic and frugal design resource to use to add sparkle and splatter to accessorization of your house.

Frugal House Design Tip 4: Bring Fabric Splash

New textures and colors will liven up a room. Adding a caterpillar spray or colored textured pillows will enhance any piece of furniture.

The covers on sofas and armchairs are a fun way to give a new, but frugal look to this tired old sofa.

Add a new table runner or place mats at the dining room table or change the seat covers on dining chairs or kitchen stools for a frugal design restoration.

Frugal Home Design Tip 5: Provide a Sensory Experience

Nothing says warm and welcomes more than a scented candle. An aromatherapy diffuser can also provide a flameless atmosphere scent experience.

Remember, Frugal Home Design is not about being "cheap", it's about being creative with what you already have.
