What is acne? Acne is a common skin condition that causes pimples (or pimples). The holes in your skin – the pores – connect to the sebaceous glands under the skin. These glands make sebum – an oily substance. The pores are connected to a follicle. Inside the follicles, dead skin cells are transported by the oil up to the surface of the skin. A pimple develops when the follicle of a cutaneous gland gets clogged. The most common place to form pimples is the face, neck, back, chest and shoulders. Although acne is not serious, it can cause scarring.

Acne is the most common skin disease. People in their forties and fifties still have acne. However, acne is most common in teenagers and young adults. 80% of people aged 11 to 30 have acne breakouts at some point.
Myths about Acne In most people, there is little evidence showing that chocolate and fatty foods are to blame. Another myth of acne is that dirty skin causes acne. This is an error. Blackheads and pimples are not caused by dirt. And while stress does not cause acne, it can exacerbate acne.
What are the causes of acne? The real cause of acne is not known. Research suggests that hormonal changes, such as those observed during adolescence and pregnancy, probably play a role.
Doctors believe that certain factors can cause acne, including:

• Hormonal Changes During Pregnancy
Stopped Birth Control Pill
• Heredity (If your parents had acne, you could get it too)
• Certain types of medications
• Fat Makeup
Acne can often be gained with the help of topical creams. In acute cases, a doctor may prescribe antibiotics and topicals to help contain the outbreak.
Good nutrition, including vitamins and plenty of water, can also help.
