Are Hot Tubs a Cause of Urinary Tract Infections?

If you are not sure what causes urinary tract infections, do not feel bad, you are not alone. In a 2003 survey sponsored by Bayer Corporation, 75% of the women surveyed did not know that bacteria, such as E. Coli, were originally from UIS.

The urinary tract is a sterile environment. The urine is also sterile. E. Coli bacteria usually live in the intestines and do not stay overnight. Sometimes, however, they spread in the urinary tract and cause a painful infection.

How does E. coli reach the urinary tract? The main modes of communication are sexual intercourse, which is overwhelming after urinating and sometimes soaking in lukewarm water.

Clean and well maintained spas do not cause themselves by themselves. If the water is cloudy or contains tiny particles, it probably has not been cleaned recently. The best time to use a spa in a fitness center is in the morning when, hopefully, it has just been cleaned up and few people have ever been there yet. Spa filters must also be cleaned; not just the bathtub itself. And some spas have too high a level of chemicals. This can disrupt the pH balance of your urinary tract if you use the tub often, making it a more inviting environment for bacteria.

It's not because the bacteria reach the urethra that you will get an infection. Bacteria look like a hot, humid environment to grow. You must make sure that they do not get it. If you wear a swimsuit in the spa, remove it immediately when you go out. Take a shower after your session. Do not wear tight pants. Wear cotton underwear. Go to the bathroom as soon as you feel the need.

Another good way to protect yourself from a uti is to use an herbal remedy two or three times a year to keep your system in balance. It will maintain the health of the urinary tract, bladder and kidneys and help eliminate contaminants such as bacteria and viruses.

The medicinal plants commonly used in natural remedies are buchu and bearberry leaf. They both stimulate the production of urine, which requires you to go to the toilet more often to purge your system. The bearberry leaf also has astringent properties that tone the lining of the urinary tract, thus preventing bacteria from attaching themselves.

The causes of urinary tract infections are many. Spas can contribute to infection, but you do not need to give up the benefits they can bring to physical and mental health. Pay attention to the way you use them. and proactive, so that your body stays healthy naturally.
