Conversion window to door


Have you ever wondered what your living room would be with French doors instead of your bay window? Do you want a comfortable indoor / outdoor space that is perfect for entertainment? Converting your window into a new door opening is easier than you think and this can be more economical than hitting a hole in your outside wall. However, there are several things that homeowners often forget and do not consider when budgeting for a window to door conversion.

1. Extra Light & Extra Heat.

If you replace your window with French doors or glass sliders, you essentially create a wider opening for the light to enter. Where there is more light, there will generally be more heat. This can be especially bad during the summer months and can cause your electricity bills to increase. If this is going to be a problem, it is important to distribute the doors with energy-efficient glass panels. These will usually cost more than your standard windows.

2. Change in your furniture arrangement.

Your favorite sofa could be right outside a window and located in the perfect. But if this window turns into a door, it will probably be moved. Before building, try to organize your furniture in a way that would make sense if this window was a door. You might be surprised to see how things happen!

3. Doors need blankets
