Genetic Factors

Genetic factors play a significant role in the formation of acne, although we do not know exactly which genes are involved. It is likely that the combination of genes of both parents is responsible.

It is common to see that many members of the same family have acne. If one or both parents have severe acne, the child may also develop severe acne.

Some medications aggravate or even cause acne. These include:
