Ping-pong or ping-pong is a game with two or four players who plays a light and hollow ball using racks, this game is played on a rigid table with a net that divides the table into two halves.
Ping Pong was inspired by the traditional tennis game. He appeared in Britain in the 19th century as a board game played by the nobility after the dinner meal.
In the beginning, ping pong was called by several names such as wiff-waff, flim-flam, and so on. These names come from the sound played when players hit the ball and drop the ball on the ping-pong table.
In 1901, the popularity of ping pong was increased. Which encouraged the British manufacturer J.Jacques & Sons Ltd. to mark the game as "ping pong". and sold the rights to the American company "Parker Brothers"
In 1921, the Table Tennis Association (TTA) was founded in Great Britain. In 1926, the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) was founded in Berlin to be the official organization of table tennis games around the world. In 1933, the American Table Tennis Association (USATT) was created.
The first championship was held in 1902 as unofficial. The first official world championships were held in London in 1926. The first appearance of table tennis at the Olympic Games took place at the 1988 Seoul Olympiad.

In 1936 the rise of the net became 15.25cm instead of 30cm which makes the game easier and faster. In 2000, the old 38mm bullet was replaced by 40mm bullets that significantly increased the air resistance of the ball
