Home Beauty Tips Make You Prettier and Richer Too

Beauty tips at home have been around since the days that Cleopatra bathed in milk to soften her skin. In fact, Cleo was on something. Milk contains lactic acid, which is a very effective softener for the skin. It seems like we've all turned to beauty commercials thinking that their ingredients are more "scientific" and better for our skin whereas in fact, many of these old style tips work very well and do not cost almost nothing.

The beauty tips at home that use honey are wonderful. Honey is a humectant that adds moisture to our skin. You can make a very effective mask to exfoliate and moisturize your skin simply by mixing finely ground oatmeal and honey into a paste and applying it on your skin. Leave it for about 10-15 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water. Your skin will be soft and smooth after this treatment.

Beauty tips at home can also help your acne. Tea tree oil is a well known antimicrobial agent that can help control your acne. While it can be applied directly to the skin, it can be irritating and drying. The best way to use it is to apply a few drops diluted with water with a cotton just after washing the face.

Another of these beauty tips at home can help you with acne as well. If you want to make a scrub with salicylic acid to help unclog pores, you probably have everything you need at home. Just finely grate the skin of an orange, mix with five crushed aspirin pills and enough orange juice and voila! You have your own scrub with salicylic acid made for only a few cents. If you have leftovers from this scrub, you can keep it in the fridge for a few days.

Beauty tips at home are also great money savers. Most cosmetics and beauty treatments that you buy in stores are tagged between 600-2000%. Compare that to the cost of the honey and oatmeal mask described above that costs just a few cents. You have plenty of ingredients on hand in your pantry to make soothing beauty treatments for the skin. Why pay extra for fancy packaging and products filled with artificial fillers and ingredients and preservatives. Why not make your own homemade beauty products with all-natural ingredients? This is the best advice I can give you to save money and get a glowing skin.
