Wow, it's a gueuleton and probably not very useful. Suffice it to say that not all designations are equal and that not all of them are eligible for a license from the Government of Alberta. I encourage you to compare the criteria of the RHI and CMHI designations to others, I consider that one or the other of these designations is difficult to obtain and therefore desirable for anyone conducting a home inspection in Calgary.

belong to a professional association, membership is completely voluntary. Memberships are not free, some associations require ongoing training and have policies encouraging members to attend meetings and work with stakeholders to improve the industry. Other associations are focusing more on marketing and helping Calgary members grow their businesses.

Each of these associations publishes standards of practice and a code of ethics that specify in detail what a home inspection includes, what it does not do, and how members should behave. The SOP and the WCC help protect consumers by ensuring that building inspectors are held to a standard, if the SOP says that a representative number of electrical containers need to be inspected, then it's better to do it! If the WCC says that a home inspector can not do any home repairs that he has inspected, it's better not to offer handyman services during home inspection!

I sincerely hope that the days of a badly formed time inspection of homes in Calgary is long gone, replaced by people who are consider as professionals who are proud to help potential buyers gain a solid understanding of the home that they envision. Mike Holmes and his TV show tend to give us a bad name, but he raised the profile of the industry, which is a good thing. Anyone who inspects homes in Airdrie should step up their game and do everything they can to be complete, complete and unbiased.

A home inspection professional is a generalist who can be compared to a family doctor. The goal is to identify significant defects and refer specific diagnosis, causes and repair methods to licensed tradespersons. Although your family doctor may be a good doctor, it may not be the best choice to perform your operation, even a line of thought for Chestermere home inspectors. A licensed plumber would probably take at least an hour to cross a house at a cost of over $ 100. Multiply this figure by the 12 systems contained in the SOP and you'll soon understand why a 4 hour home inspection and $ 500 is really a bargain and only one person to plan!
