The steps needed to tear a Samsung dryer are relatively simple. Before separating the dryer, you must first unplug or unplug the dryer 's power.
Pull the dryer forward as the top is held with two screws coming from the back. Remove the screws and the top will slide back and forth.
At the top, the control panel will be accessible. The control is clipped into plastic clips, there are no screws to remove the control panel. With the Un-clipped panel, you will see the wiring harness that needs to be disconnected. Press the tab on the wiring harness and the control will release freely.
Remove the two screws located on the lint filter housing near the bottom of the door opening. Screws that have been hidden by the base of the control panel should be removed along the top of the front panel.
When the screws are off, press the two clips that hold the front of the case and pull the front panel toward the front to reveal the door switch. Now that you have access to the door switch, unlock the door switch and the front panel will lift up and out of the unit. Samsung does not place screws on the lower front panel; the panel is in a metal groove.
Samsung uses a partition at the front of its units, removing the four screws that hold the partition to the cabinet.
There are 2 screws along the left side and 2 on the right side. Once the screws are removed, the partition will rise from the holding slot to allow access to the dryer belt. Note the routing of the belt before removal, using a camera or drawing, this will help you assemble it if you forget about dry routing.
When the walking belt is removed, the drum will lift up and out of the dryer and give you access to all components. You can now use your voltmeter and ohmmeter to diagnose the unit properly for any electrical / heating problem you may have.
Samsung dryers are a bit different from American dryers. Samsung uses a different technology in its washers and dryers than a Whirlpool washer or dryer or Maytag does not have. This is good and bad, often the components that prevent a clothes dryer from running are additional options that are present that a different brand does not have. On most residential washers and dryers, they are equipped with what is called a printed circuit board. This table is what is behind the buttons you press to start the dryer. When an option that does not prevent the dryer from starting, the only way to fix it is to replace the main control board.
