Male & Female Body Shape


Everyone is born with a different body type. This is why every man and woman has a different body shape and develops different levels of fat and muscle mass.

Your body type is completely determined by genetics. You will probably share the same type as someone who is closely related to you, like a mother or a father.

Because the body type is a genetic trait, it will always be outside of you. However, with the right approach, you can change the shape of your body to start looking like a different body type.

The Three Body Types:

Endomorphs: Endomorphs tend to have larger bones than other figures. These men and women usually have round faces with thighs and wider hips. Endomorphs have arms and legs that tend to be short and slender, which makes them look stocky.

Most endomorphs have relatively small hands and feet and a tall stature. In addition, endomorphs have higher levels of body fat than other body types, but they can also build muscles and lean mass easily. Weight loss is the most difficult for the endomorph.

Mesomorphs: Mesomorphs are generally described as having athletic construction. They often have an hourglass or ruler shape and easily gain muscle mass. The majority of mesomorphs have broad shoulders and a narrow waist. They have a fast metabolism and can lose weight more easily than endomorphs.

Ectomorphs: The ectomorphs have a thin, linear appearance. Most ectomorphs look like rules, with narrow sizes, hips and shoulders. The ectomorphs can lose weight easily and tend to have low levels of body fat. However, they also have a harder time gaining lean muscle mass.

Few people fall distinctly into a category. Instead, it is much more likely that you are a combination of body types. Common combinations include ecto-mesomorphic and endo-mesomorphic.

Identifying your shape before planning a fat loss diet can be beneficial in many ways.
