As more and more people become aware of the effect of pesticides and synthetic ingredients on our environment and our health, more and more women are interested in using natural skin care products . The growing demand comes with more widely available natural skin care products, which can be chemical-free, totally organic or even vegan. It is estimated that during a typical skin care treatment, a woman's skin, hair and nails come into contact with more than 100 chemicals, many of which are harmful to one's health. During her life, a woman ingests about four pounds of lipstick, and the lipstick may contain tar, aluminum and many other toxic or carcinogenic substances. As a result, natural skin care products are increasingly in demand today as health awareness increases.
Natural skin care products are available in the following forms:
· Shampoos and conditioners
· Skin conditioners
· Skin Tonic and Moisturizer
There are also natural fragrances, moisturizers and skin treatments. Natural and organic cosmetics do not contain synthetic dyes and their color can be obtained through plants and minerals. They usually have a shorter shelf life than conventional cosmetics and need to be replaced often. Natural cosmetics are available as a foundation, lipstick, eyeliners and other beautifying products. Many natural cosmetics use products of animal origin such as beeswax and lanolin, and vegans, those who avoid them completely, should find cosmetic products containing vegetable oils such as butter palm and shea butter.
Many consumers of natural beauty products enjoy the benefits of aromatherapy with the cleansing and conditioning of their skin and their hair. Aromatherapy is the art of affecting the feeling of well being through the use of essential oils of flowers and herbs. Some mixtures stimulate while others relax. Many natural skin care products are available in sets including a shower gel, soap, shampoo and conditioner, scrub and eau de toilette. The orange, bergamot and cedar have stimulating effects and refresh the skin. Many report tingling after using natural products of citrus and cedar. Jasmine and Ylang-Ylang soothe and prevent stress.
Natural skin care products are generally based on bases and essential oils. Depending on the product, the base may be a wax or a cream based on moisturizing oils and plant butters. Africa's unrefined shea butter is a common choice and Tamanu from Madagascar is prized for its soothing properties. The best essential oils are pressed by expulsion, which means that they are extracted without chemical solvents. Bases and oils are combined to produce creams, cleansers, perfumes and lipsticks for the skin.
Masks and skin treatments are in-depth processes that require several types of natural skin care products for a complete treatment. Mud masks may contain mud or clay, rich in vitamins, from certain parts of the world and known for its nourishing products. A mask that pulls impurities from the skin and improves circulation is usually followed by a moisturizing spray. Rose water is often used for this purpose because of its nourishing and moisturizing properties. The skin is cleansed using a scrub composed of crushed peach stones or another rough material that dislodges dead cells. Cleansers are used depending on the type of skin; those with dry skin can use a cleanser with a fruit such as avocado or banana, and those with oily skin or acne find the oil cleanser tea tree quite effective. A moisturizer completes the treatment and is composed of plant oils such as cocoa or palm that add a soft moisture without clogging the pores.
Be careful when buying natural skin care products. Many conventional skin care products claim to have natural ingredients, but this may mean that they use a little plant or herb, the other half (95%) being made up of products chemical. Read the label to make sure the products you use are natural, if it's important to you, and collaborate with a company you trust.
