Top 7 Hard Rock And Heavy Metal Guitar Tunings


In addition to standard tuning, many guitar tunings are used in rock and metal music. Guitarists of these genres like to use these chords because they give a heavier and darker sound to their music.

Some of the most popular tunings are Dropped D, Dropped C, Dropped B, Flat E, D, C and open. G. Here is the description of how the strings are to be tuned and some of the bands that use them.

Tuning D interrupted:

E ———- 1st channel

B – ——— 2nd channel

G ——- — 3rd chain

D ———- 4th string

A — ——- 5th string

D ——— – 6th string (thickest)

This chord makes it possible to play powerful chords with a single finger on the three lowest strings and produces a dark sound with it. If your music does not fit with this dark sound, you can place a capo on the 2nd fret and continue to play the powerful chords easily.

This chord will need a higher caliber strings to be effective. You may need to widen the grooves of the strings and adjust the tension in the neck of your guitar.

This setting is a Standard setting that is reduced by one semitone. There are a few reasons why tapes use this setting instead of the standard setting. One reason is to look heavier using heavy gauge ropes. By tuning a semitone, it is easier to fold these heavy ropes. Another reason why some groups use this agreement is to supplement the voice of the main singers.

The D chord is also known as full chord and as you have probably already guessed. it is the standard agreement reduces a whole step. The D accord was mainly used in Heavy Metal music.
