Types of Manicures and Pedicures

Our nails require as much care as our skin and hair. The next time you go to a salon, try to look at your nails and toenails and take a look if a manicure or pedicure is in need. Keep in mind that pedicures and manicures do not just mean that your nails are cleaned and polished. It also involves treatments that replenish lost supplements and rejuvenate the skin of hands and feet.

There are usually 4 types of manicures and pedicures available in most salons. They can engage in other types of treatments using non-traditional ingredients such as flower petals or even dark chocolate. The classifications that will be discussed are the basics.

Regular Mani and Pedi – This type of treatment includes all the basic principles, such as soaking in soapy water (to soften the dead skin and dry nails), the nail cutting, foot scrub and sole, hydration, a short foot massage and the application of a nail polish of your choice. One can also choose to go natural and skip the nail polish and opt instead for polishing the nails.

French Manicure / Pedicure – Across the country, hair salons said that it was currently the most popular nail treatment in women. Its natural and clean appearance is probably the main reason for its popularity among hair salons. Neutral colored nails with white tips classify this treatment. The customer has the opportunity to choose the shape of his nail that can be oval, square or round. Today, special stencils are used for a cleaner and faster application of white nail polish on the tips. A French manicure and pedicure also includes moisturizing scrubs, pumice scrubs and simple hand and foot massages.

Nail Spa – As its name indicates, your finger and nails undergo special treatments. It takes longer and obviously costs more. The salons offer many variations of this procedure, often "unique" by an additional ingredient. Bandages and masks are usually involved. It's like an ordinary manicure and pedicure, plus additives (reflexology massage with hydrating treatment, for example). These treatments are designed to rejuvenate and relax the skin and nails.

Paraffin wax – The paraffin used for hair salon treatments is actually an alkaline substance (unlike acid) that contains moisturizing factors for the skin. It comes in a very viscous and waxy form that applies to all the skin of the feet and hands (palm and back of the hands). The hands and feet of the man are then wrapped in moisture to allow to see through the skin. Paraffin manicures and pedicures also include regular cleaning and painting of nails.

Of course it is possible to do it yourself. We just need the right tools to keep their nails clean and beautiful, efficiently and safely. The essential on the nails includes:

  • Nail Clipper / Nail Clipper
  • Nail Brush
  • Pumice Stone
  • Cuticle Remover
  • Napkin
  • Orange Pusher / Shank [19659010] Emeryboard
  • Stamp
  • Stamp
  • and / or hydrating feet
  • Soaking Basin
  • Transparent nail polish (preferably with a cuticle moisturizer)

Salons will always advise you, if you have never experienced manicures and pedicures, it is better to call a professional.
