Holiday sweaters are always very fun, especially when you get into the crazy phenomenon of the ugly Christmas sweater in particular. Why do we feel compelled to buy and carry there? Or worse, but as gifts for our loved ones – * gasp *
Honestly, not all Christmas sweaters are ugly and all holiday sweaters do not look like a Bedazzler thread, so there's progress somewhere (Yay for that!)
So, what makes it a nasty vacation sweater, anyway? Usually, there is a little more shiny thread or rough fabric, maybe some giant buttons, and there is certainly a lot of red and green.
Of course, ugliness is no longer really a requirement – there are a lot of holiday sweaters that are just holiday sweaters, but we can call them ugly Christmas sweatshirts just because that's what it's all about. is a kind of phrase that encompasses sweater with a holiday theme to it.
Things you may want to avoid on your Christmas or holiday sweater:
– sparkling yarns and fabrics (no idea why holidays bring out fake gold in everything)
– all that requires a battery, like flashing Christmas lights (you do not want to match the Christmas tree!)
– anything that has a button to press the sound effects (your sweater should not make your singing sing Christmas)
– puffy Giant Santa Clause wallpapers (except the inflated felt hat for bottom decorations)
Whatever you decide to wear this holiday season, enjoy it, love it, and stay warm!
